Our trip to Charleston

So today we decided that we wanted to do something fun...so we packed the car and headed towards Charleston. We were so excited and on the way we began to think of all the things we had forgotten such as Addison's cereal for lunch and all the utensils it requires, the chip for the camera...oh and to check the forcast. As we got closer to Charleston it began to rain. We thought it was too late to turn around so we continued to drive. When we got to the beach, the weather was perfect. We were so excited...and then I realized I forgot to bring a bathingsuit for Paul and I, a change of clothes AND towels. We had already paid for parking so we decied that we would get our $7 worth so we went down to the water in our "normal" clothes (we felt like dorks)...at least Addison had a bathing suit on:-) She LOVED the water. She sat in the sand and waited for the waves to come. After some time playing in the sand we decided that this would be more fun if we were more prepared, so we would come back and do this another time. We finish our trip in Downtown Charleston visiting the Slave Market and eating at our favorite, T Bones! Here are some pictures from our trip.

We are BACK!!!

So much has happened in such a little time...Addison started her daycare-and she loves it...I started teaching and I have a wonderful class...Paul celebrated his 26th birthday...

After only 2 days at daycare Addison now rolls over without any problem. Sometimes to get something she really wants, she will just roll towards it.

She is now waving "bye". It is so cute!

Many of you are probably wondering how I did leaving Addison at Mrs. Pam's. Well... I got no sleep for several days prior to her first day. So many thoughts were going through my mind. I cried the day I dropped her supplies off...not Addison...yet. I did very well dropping her off...I was a big girl. I didn't cry until the third day when I realized that this was "real"...but she loves it. She has made so many friends and she is developing so fast. I now look forward each day to picking her up. Even with her being so young...she gets so excited to see me walk in the door.

With daycare comes germs and Addison has had a cold the past few days. She is really stuffy and she is coughing. It is so sad but it has made her more cuddly:-)
Here are some pictures of the things you have missed.

Sorry for not blogging...Paul clicked on something he wasn't supposed to and we caught a really bad virus. We now have to buy a new hard drive before we are back up and running.

I'm sorry to disappoint all those who check the blog daily...it is killing me too:-)

We love ya'll and can't wait to update you on all the new "stuff"

Yummy Peas!

Addison had peas for the first time at her Aunt Nat Nat's house. It was definitely a new taste for her. I couldn't figure out if she really liked it or not. She would make funny faces, but she would always take another bite. She was a great trooper. Here are some pictures from our visit to Rock Hill.

Thanks again Uncle Adam for the amazing burgers.

Being a Mom

It's still hard for me to believe that yes, I am a Mom. Becoming a mom has been one of the most amazing milestones of my life. Motherhood is everything I imagined it would be and everything I didn't imagine it would be. My most recent favorite moments are those moments where I walk by Addison's room, only to hearing her singing her own sweet little song either while waking up or going to sleep. Her sweet innocent voice always brings a smile to my face. Even though there has been rough patches along the way, nothing is more rewarding then the big smiles that she gives to all those around.

As I prepare to go back to school a part of me feels really sad. I have spent the past 5 months with Addison, almost becoming "one" with her...spending almost every minute of the day with her. I'm not at all worried about Addison. She loves other children and I know she will make lots of new friends. I am more worried about myself. I have no idea what condition I am going to be the first day I go back and have to drop Addison off, though I look forward to the moment I pick her up.

Grocery Shopping

Grocery Shopping has always been difficult for me. When I would sit Addison's car seat in the grocery cart I couldn't see over it and if I put it in the cart I had no room for the groceries. MeMaw bought Addison the cutest seat cover that now allows her to sit safely and comfortably in the grocery cart. Thanks MeMaw!

My Classroom

Paul and I spent several hours in my classroom today and I just wanted to share some of my pictures. It's not finished but I am very excited about my layout. Last year my main focus was filling up the room since I started with a room that only had carpet and some desks. This year my main goal was to create a room that was functional and comfortable. If you look closely at the first picture...Paul hung gutters on the wall and I was able to fill them with books. It looks so great. The last picture...I took sample carpet squares and put them together to make a rug (well...I still have to tape them all together underneath). I just realized that I didn't take any pictures of the front of the room...I will update that another day:-) Alright...I think I am having a conversation with myself...

Rolling Over!

This morning Paul and I were laying on the floor playing with Addison. She was laying on her back and we were trying to get her to roll over on her tummy. Paul rolled her over to her tummy and we were just talking to each other and Addison effortlessly rolled over to her back.

All this time we were teaching her the opposite way and she decided to do her own thing. Our little "strong-willed" daughter has an agenda of her own.

We are so proud of her!!!
