Our Cutie Pie

When Addison was born, I always thought she looked just like me. She is now looking more like Paul. What do you think?

7 weeks

Addison is 7 weeks old today! Since our last blog she has continued to smile big! Paul taught her to stick out her tongue, which is so cute. So now whenever she starts to smile she sticks out her tongue.
She seems to be getting longer to me. We were just giving her a bath and we noticed that she is taking up a lot more room in the hammock that hangs over her tub. We took the hammock off, and she took a "big" girl bath today. She loves bath time more than anything. She loves to get water in her mouth...it is soooo cute.
She is also "talking" more these days, especially when she wakes up. We truly believe she understands what we are saying. I guess we have a baby genius on our hands:-)

Here are some of my favorite pictures from this past week.

Poor Poor Lily

As expected, Lily was put to the side when Addison arrived. Besides the barking throughout the day, she has done well with the baby. She will kiss her every once in awhile, but for the most part, she doesn't even care. Her grandma and grandpa felt sorry for her and got her a haircut this past week. She looks super cute! Here are the before and after pictures. She looks like a whole new dog!

Play Time with Connor

Today Addison and I went over to Kasey's (my sister) house and let the babies play together. They were so cute. They would stare at each other and they kept grabbing each others hand. We can't wait for them to get bigger and watch them run around together. These pictures were taken with my phone so they aren't that clear.

5 weeks old Today!!!

Addison turned 5 weeks old today. I know I keep saying this, but I can't believe how fast time is flying.
Today was a hard day. She was really fussy and by the time Paul got home I was completely exhausted. As he was holding her he was asking her why she had given me such a hard time and she began smiling. Not just a small smile, but a full-mouth smile. It was as if she wanted to laugh so bad. I snapped a few pictures as quick as I could. Somehow this made everything OK:-)

Picture People

Here are the pictures Addison got done on Saturday (I had to take a picture of them-sorry for the glare). I couldn't figure out how to rotate them...so just turn your head to the side:-)

Addison Update!

We decided earlier, that as soon as Addison turned 1 month we were going to put her in her basssinet at night(she was only sleeping with us). The first night she only slept 3 hours, but since then we are proud to announce that she has been sleeping in her bassinet. Not only is she sleeping in her bassinet, she is sleeping 5 hour shifts...which is wonderful.

We took Addison to Picture People today to get her pictures taken and they turned out wonderful. Once we figure out how to use the scanner we will post them.

I have attached pictures of addison holding her bottle like a "big girl".

4 weeks old!

Wow! The time has flown by. I feel like It was just yesterday that I was posting about how I couldn't wait for her to be here, and I have now had her 4 weeks. I never thought it was going to be easy, but I never thought it was going to be this hard. I have really grown through this process. The first 2 weeks were really hard for Paul and I. She wasn't sleeping at night and she was crying a lot. There were nights where Paul and I cried with her because we didn't know what to do. I even remember Paul saying one night, "Are we going to be able to do this?". The only thing I could think was, we really don't have a choice. It was definitely a time where praying for patience was all we could do. God had definitely provided us with the patience needed to raise Addison. The past 2 weeks have been wonderful. Addison is starting to get on a schedule and we are beginning to understand her different cries. Today was the first day that Addison has slept on her own verses me holding her the whole time (hence why I am able to update my blog). She is beginning to make cute noises, her facial expressions are priceless, and she is observing her surroundings. Even though our life has change drastically, it is hard to remember what our life was before her. We anticipate the little things now. I can't wait till she laughs. She smiles now and has the cutest dimples.

I want to thank all my family and friends who have helped and encouraged us through these weeks. It really does take a "village" to raise a child.
